Chimney & Vent Services
Everything Noble Chimney Sweepers does, in one place. Every service below comes with the same ground rules: a written price before work begins, photos of what we find, floor protection and HEPA dust control indoors, and honest advice about what can wait. Starting prices for each service are published on the pricing page.
Chimney Sweeping
Rotary-rod cleaning of the full flue with a Level 1 visual inspection included. The annual service that keeps creosote from becoming a chimney fire.
Chimney Inspections — Level 1 & 2
Visual checks for maintained systems and full camera scans for home purchases, post-fire assessments, and fuel conversions. Written photo reports included.
Chimney Repair & Masonry
Tuckpointing, spalled brick replacement, smoke chamber parging, and firebox rebuilds — freeze-thaw damage fixed at the source.
Chimney Relining
Stainless steel liner systems for cracked clay flues — installed, insulated, and camera-verified, usually in a single day.
Caps & Crowns
Properly sized stainless caps, flexible crown sealing, and full crown rebuilds — the cheapest insurance a chimney can buy.
Gas Fireplace Tune-Ups
Burner and pilot service, glass and gasket care, draft check, and a real CO reading — because a clean-looking flame isn’t proof of a safe one.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
Full-length duct cleaning with verified airflow, including roof terminations other companies skip.
Air Duct Cleaning
Whole-system HVAC duct cleaning by source removal — supply, returns, plenum, and blower — with an honest look first.
How to tell which service you need
Most people arrive here with a symptom rather than a service name, so here is the short translation. A fireplace that has been used for a season or more and has never been cleaned needs sweeping. A house that is about to change hands, has had a chimney fire, or is getting a new appliance or fuel needs a Level 2 inspection with a camera scan. Water stains on a ceiling near the chimney, crumbling mortar or flaking brick point at repair and masonry. Cracked clay tiles, or a new high-efficiency furnace sharing an oversized flue, point at relining. Animals, rain or debris coming down the flue point at caps and crowns. A gas unit that will not light, smells, or sooted its glass needs a tune-up. Clothes taking two cycles to dry means dryer vent cleaning, and dust returning to the registers right after a cleaning usually means the duct system itself needs attention.
What every visit includes
The same routine applies whether the job is a straightforward sweep or a full reline. Daniel Watkins is certified, bonded and insured, has 14 years in the trade, and runs the company himself, so the person who quotes the work is the person who does it. Findings are photographed and shown to you rather than described, and the report separates what is a safety problem now from what can reasonably wait a season or two. Floors and furnishings are covered, and indoor work runs under HEPA dust control with the flue under negative pressure so soot leaves the house instead of settling in it.
The standard we work to
Every inspection follows NFPA 211, the National Fire Protection Association standard for chimneys, fireplaces, vents and solid fuel-burning appliances. It defines Levels 1, 2 and 3, and it sets the inspection interval at once a year, checking soundness, freedom from deposits and correct clearances. It also specifies when a Level 2 is required instead of optional: on the sale or transfer of a property, after a chimney fire or other operating malfunction, and whenever the fuel, the appliance or the flue lining changes. A Level 2 carries a recorded video scan of the flue interior. The standard itself is documented on the NFPA 211 page.
